My name is Emma - I’m a musician/songwriter living in Birmingham, UK. I could write a thousand words about my beginnings on the Internet - the failed YouTube channels, the pop-punk bands I joined in my teens, the ten years spent navigating the ups and downs of accidentally making social media a career - but quite frankly, the Internet moves fast. We don’t have time to recount everything (although I do tell the full story in my book, because all ‘big’ YouTubers around at a certain period got a book deal…)

So here I am in 2022 - I live in Birmingham with my cat, Princess Leia, as well as a very special lovely human. After years of trying to crack the ‘big time’ with my music, I found my voice and realised that I once dreamed of having the freedom of being able to make songs for a living… and now I do! I’ve released music under my name Emma Blackery for ten years - you can find the vast majority of it on all streaming sites (some of which are linked on this site!) hopefully, you’ll find something you like. I’ve written a pop album, a multi-genre/alternative album, pop-punk EPs, acoustic pop, garage rock… the list goes on.

I can’t imagine this bio appealing to the fast-paced Gen-Z lifestyle of today, so now you’ve got this far - I’m a fully-fledged millennial (30? ew…) just living her life online. I’m a far more private person than I used to be - oversharing online is something I don’t recommend to those who enjoy their peace - but I hope you enjoy the glimpse I’m still happy to share.
